This page explains where every number on the site comes from. If a number isn’t sourced here or next to where it appears, treat it as a mistake and tell us.
Prices
- Prices come from each seller’s own product page or public product feed on the date shown next to them.
- We record the price a buyer would pay before tax, and list freight, bundles (heater, stones, controller) and delivery separately when the seller shows them.
- When a seller advertises a sale, we show the sale price with its end date if one is given.
- Prices go stale. Anything older than 30 days is marked, and anything older than 90 days is removed.
Installed-cost estimates
- The calculator adds the sauna price to freight, a foundation or pad, the electrical circuit, permits and assembly.
- Each line uses a published range (national cost guides, city permit fee schedules, and US Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data for electricians in your metro). The source is shown on the line.
- Results are estimates, not quotes. A licensed electrician and your local permit office have the final word.
Heater sizing
Heater ranges follow the manufacturers’ published sizing rules for room volume, with the adjustments they publish for glass, uninsulated walls and outdoor rooms. We link to each manual.
Builders
- A builder appears only if we found public evidence of sauna work: a project gallery, a sauna service page, or a manufacturer dealer listing.
- Listed means public information only; we have not checked the business. Verified means we checked the state contractor or electrical license and a current insurance certificate, on the date shown.
- Builders can claim, correct or remove their listing at any time.
What we don’t do
- We don’t claim to have tested products we haven’t used.
- We don’t publish reviews or testimonials we didn’t collect ourselves, and we don’t edit what reviewers said.
- We don’t make health claims. Where we mention research, we link to the study and describe what it measured.
